CPL announces WT 1on1 Game

Gestern Abend war es soweit...

Die Cyberathlete Professional League hat ihr 1on1 Game für die World Tour 2006!

Wie man erwarten konnte, ist es niemand geringeres als der Knüller Quake 4, aus dem Hause ID Software, welcher sich gegen alle anderen Games durchsetzen konnte. Sicherlich ein besserer Entscheid als der des letzten Jahres, wo man sich für das bis heute noch sehr unausgereifte Spiel Painkiller entschieden hat.

Die Kollegen von gotfrag.com liessen es sich nicht nehmen und schnappten sich Angel Munoz gleich für ein Interview.

The CPL announced today the one-versus-one competition game for 2006.
At the first Cyberathlete Professional League® (CPL) event in October of 1997, the primary competition game was id Software's first-person action game QUAKE®.

A year later, the CPL commenced using QUAKE II®, and in September 1999 the CPL launched the first professional gaming competition for QUAKE III Arena® in New York City.

Less than a year later, the CPL introduced the first ever $100,000 tournament for QUAKE III Arena. This ground breaking tournament was won by Johnathan "Fatal1ty" Wendel and helped launch him into worldwide fame.

Today, the CPL is proud to announce that it is returning to its hardcore gaming roots by selecting id Software's upcoming QUAKE 4® as the primary one-versus-one competition game for the 2006 World Series events.

QUAKE 4 marks the return of id's trademark deathmatch-style multiplayer formula. Online gameplay action in QUAKE 4 is based on the speed, style and overall multiplayer feel found in the popular QUAKE III Arena, and allows gamers to compete in deathmatch, team deathmatch, capture-the-flag, and tournament modes.

NOTE: If QUAKE 4 is released prior to the Winter Event 2005, the CPL will conduct a small qualifying tournament at that event.

Today, the CPL announced that the primary team game will be Counter-Strike version 1.6. While details about the 2006 tournament format will be announced later in the year, the CPL will launch two tournaments this year with Counter-Strike 1.6.

source wird den eher es funturnier.. wenn überhaupt no was mit source chunt.. zbs cpl winter hets e cs 1.6 turnier mit nem priisgeld vo 60'000$..

Vo dem was ich bis ez gseh han, chunnts mir sehr doom lastig vor und das gfallt mir gar nöd... (und s gseht nöd mal besser us als d3...)
Leider hetts au fast nüt meh ztue mit Q3! usserd ich bin falsch informiert?:-)

du bisch verdammt falsch informiert ;) usgseh chans vo mir us wie en gaypron ! solang s'game play stimmt ruults eifach.. ich begriif die leut ned wo so grafik geil sind ;) gameplay>grafik ! frühener mit em nintendo häts ja au nur gameplay gä grafik isch beschisse gsie.. aber fun häts ufjedefall gamcht ;)

fudi, du bisch wirklich meh als falsch informiert. Guck dir doch d Multiplayers Videos vo de Quakecon ah. Es isch genauso wie Q3, au grafisch.

JO aber wenn me InsTinct würd mit Quake4 zämmebinde gäbs über 13 Hornusse..!

Ich persönlich, als alte quaker muess sage es isch perfekt. quake 3 ebiz getweaked und angepasst...

De Angel Munoz isch jo extra dörte gsi und het sich mit lüt unterhalte und s apiel selber gspielt... lass doch ned so haltlose behauptige vom stapel

Ehrm... darfme hie erwähne dass quake4 nid usem hause ID software sondern Raven Software stammt und lediglich d Engine vo ID software verwendet wird? Wenn ja, denn bitte ig umene korrektur und de richtig link, will es isch e bitz e irrglaube ume, also soviel ig weiss, eventuell cha ja mi post wieder öper anders korrigiere.

ID Software isch grundsätzlich de Spiel designer, planer und cheffe. Raven programmiert das ganze eifach...
