Today is the final date for for the first round of our Battlefield 1942 Cup. Due to some Def-Wins only three matches will be played in the first round.
One match has already been played, between name is not necessary  and Geh aB! Battlefield 1942 , which ended with a large victory for Geh aB! Battlefield 1942, with [658 : 0].
The match between Arcor and Central Swiss Clan  will be played on Monday at 20.15 CET.
The match between keyboard.tactix and Law and Order.BF42 will be played tonight at 20.00 CET, , and we're hoping to see some great action.

Today we're opening the registration for a second international cup by gamersNET.com. This time around we're working with feid, who will be sponsoring our cup. The winning Team will receive 8 T-shirts by feid, which will be shipped to all countries within Europe.
 The cup will be played in double Elimination without the groupstages. There will also be minor changes to the rules to optimize the ticket ratio problems some faced last time around. For those of you, who are new to gamersNET we've created a how-to, to ease the registration process. The registration will stay open for 2 weeks, until Wednesday December 8. After that the cup will be launched and the teams will have one week to find the opponents, set a date and play the match. We will however hold a Christmas break until the first Wednesday after New Year's.
The last cup was a great success with teams from all over Europe but in the final Clan-it  was able to beat eQuinox , making them the winners of the gamersNET.com's first international Battlefield Cup. They just recently attended the BasseLAN, where they reached the third place, only beaten by Mousesports and Dignitas
We hope there will be strong participation to prove that BF42 is still alive and kicking.

What could HystRia possibly have in common with Sweden? At first you would say nothing at all. From today on that will be a different story as HystRia announces that they now also have a swedish squad,  HystRia.swe. Quite a few exiting days for arguably one of the best teams in Switzerland as they got their first Sponsor, Revelcell this weekend as well as finishing third at the gNET.CS Lan finals in Bern on Saturday.
HystRia.swe have been playing under the name cosinus up until today and are not unknown in Sweden. They have attended and won a lot of LAN's, including Gamingeye Dreamhack Summer 04 which is the amateur contest on one of the biggest LAN's in the world with over 4500 participants. They will also start competing in SEL next season.

A week has passed since the overall final in our BF42-Cup. The Cup ended being a great success and was the first international BF-Cup being organised by a swiss community page. It was also one of the first online BF-Cup�s being able to present prizes for the winners. At this point we would especially like to thank our partners for this cup, revelcell and shop.iland.ch for their great support.
Quite extraordinary for our Cup was also the mode in which it was played. First the teams had to qualify for the Double elimination through a Group stage. Unfortunatly only one swiss team got past this stage, distace.bf, which played a great Cup. Red Raptors was the second swiss team with a potential to make it through the group stages. Unfortunatly they decided to make a longer Summer break, leaving them with not enough members to play the cup. This of course resulted in def-losses for them during the group stage.
We had very strong international teams in our Cup, which was probably the number one reason for the early drop out of most swiss teams. Internationally well known teams like Incredible Teamaction , MasterBlasters e.V. , Team Mirage  and eQuinoX gave our cup a certain flair and importance.
In the overall final Incredible Teamaction met eQuinoX on Tobruk and Iwo Jima for a very exiting match. EQuinoX had to win the first map, Tobruk to have a chance winning the final. They achieved this with great tank skills and great defense as Coalition, winning this map with 351 : 229. Still everything was open as they both proceded to the last map, Iwo Jima. Here Incredible Teamaction was able to show eQuinoX that great piloting skills can make an important difference. Incredible Teamaction won their map with 0 : 448, making them the gNET.BF Champion.

Finally the day day we've all been waiting for has come. The day of the overall finals in our BF42 Cup Tonight at 20.30 CET the norwegians in Clan-it will meet eQuinoX , definetly a top german team.
eQuinoX has had a great Cup, losing only to incredible Teamaction in the Winnerbracket. Thus they qualified by beating the well known dutch and belgian Team-Mirage with incredible 280 : 0 in last week's Lowerbracket Finals. It seems like the german guys have evolved throughout the summer and we're looking forward to a great Match between them and the still in our BF42 Cup unbeaten Clan-it.
incredible Teamaction seem to have had a walk in the park in our Cup, with the tightest result beeing against eQuinoX in their match in the Winnerbracket a few weeks back. With a result of 133 : 93 it's still not enough for clan-it to lean back, but enough to give eQuinoX a motivation boost, knowing that clan-it isn't unbeatable.
For you netbet addicted guys out there we've also opened a bet for tonight's match.
***UPDATE***
We've organised a shoutcast for you: gamersNET.live with baharroth, who's already online playing some funky tunes. He's scottish, so he might sound a bit funny ;)
***UPDATE2*** The first 15 minutes clan-it was able to maintain a great defense. eQuinoX kept pushing on and was able to takeone flag after the other. 1.23 minutes before the end clan-it lost their mainbase and last flag and hid. They still had one player left at the end leaving the end result of the first round at 192 : 90 for eQuinoX.
***UPDATE3*** In the 2. Round eQuinoX was able to hold off clan-it's attacks during most of the game. Except for a few minutes where Clan-it was able to capture and hold the first 3 flags. eQuinox also wins this round with 159 : 139.
***UPDATE4*** After a first great attack from it, with which they were able to take all 3 flags in the middle from whereon on they proceeded to the hill. After 2 failed attempts on taking the landing field on the south part of the Island, they were finally able to build up an air superiority and attack the the eQuinoX final flag in a well timed attack. The round ended with 209 : 0 for it.
***UPDATE5*** Clan-it is our new Champion!! After a first failed attack from eQx they weren't able to get enough flags quick enough as Clan-it kept the air superiority for the rest of the short time remaining for eQx before their tickets were down to 209 19 minutes before end. Clan-it wins this round as well with 239 : 0 and is the new gNET.BF Champion. Congratulations to both teams for a great game.

Even though all the swiss are in a WCG national Final fever our BF Cup is still going forward. Battlefield is not supported by the WCG, but still all BF players are welcome to the offline qualification organised by gamersNET in Bützberg this Saturday. Even Spectators are guaranteed to have a blast.
Tonight at 21.30 CET Incredible Teamaction will meet Team Mirage in the Winnerbracket Finale in our our Cup. Both teams are still unbeaten in our Cup so we can all expect an very exciting game.
Both matches in the Lowerbracket have already been played. eQuinoX was able to throw out the last swiss team from the cup. distace.bf wasn�t able to stand the germans� pressure and lost with 489 : 0. distace.bf were still able to impress against the very tough international teams. The Match between MasterBlasters e.V. and rEtri.bution was unfortunately not played.
***UPDATE*** After 2 great rounds where both teams were able to extinguish the opponent from the Island, clan-it were able to take home the victory. Team Mirage put up a great fight, but clan-it was faster in taking out Team-Mirages last man.

Masterblasters e.V. could convince in the match against rEtri.bution last week and their skill must be proofed against Team Mirage this week. eQuinoX also will have a hard fight against the Norwegians of Incredible Teamaction .

It's finally ready, the day of the decision has come. It gets really thrilling in our DC Cup organized together with desertcombat.ch at 20.00h tonight because 2 giants of the DC scene will meet in our cup today.
Dare-Devils.dc also has himself sovereignly fought by the Winnerbracket and get it himself today against the measure very strong HighFiDelity.Go2Host.DC . Dare-Devils.dc could already win through against HighFiDelity.Go2Host.DC in the Winnerbracket final on the map Desertshield and will risk everything to repeat this today, too. In meeting lastly the tickets of the two teams were different merely at 2 and a scarce match can be expected today, too.
DareDevils.dc could choose the first map as a winner of the Winnerbrackets. This Map must be won by HighFiDelity.Go2Host.DC so that it comes to the second map. At the end all tickets are added up to find the winner out. El Alamein will be also only map of the evening while HighFiDelity.Go2Host.DC have decided in favor of El Alamein Day 2 the first and depending on.

On Dare-Devils map, El Alamein, HFD could be successful in the first round as an opposition and started lead with 26 tickets into the second round. Dare-Devils won the second round with 45 : 17. Our BF league gets hot once again in the group phase tonight. These are the last games before it goes further in the Double-Elimination Phase.
Group 1 profited primarily from the summer break of the Red Raptors which therefore gave all teams Def-Wins. Team Mirage will play against the Swiss CHE-Clan tonight during Freakproject collected a Def-Win against Red Raptors. Only one game was delivered in the 2nd group between distace.bf and Central Swiss Clan . This game is already played and distace.bf could win again with a result of 234 : 106. From the 2nd group, two teams have qualified for the Double-Elimination Phase, namely distace.bf and Incredible Teamaction .
In the 3rd group MasterBlasters e.V meet eQuinoX , what will be probably the most thrilling match tonight. Since soFragged has left the cup because of motivation and member problems, MasterBlasters e.V and eQuinoX have already qualified. Their match today will decide on the table leadership, though.

It goes round here in our DC cup. The cup organized in cooperation with desertcombat.ch is already far advanced and we can already look forward to a thrilling match, the lowerbracket final between the probably best Swiss DC team Birds-of-Prey and the mainly German HighFiDelity.Go2Host.DC .
These two giants of the DC scene have met already repeatedly. So they hit each other on the map El Alamein in the early course of the cup (2nd WB round). At that time HFD had the upper hand and could leave the battlefield as a winner. Only short time later at the Netplex in Langnau where DC represented the main tournament, it came to a meeting of the two teams again where HFD could gain acceptance once more.
If the Birds-of-Prey really can win today at 20.00h is unclear because the played map is Desertshield, where the tanks are really important and Birds-of-Prey are well known since they have a very strong infantry primarily. It was already proved that a HFD also isn't infallible. They lost against the Dare-Devils in the winnerbracket final with 2 tickets difference on the map Desertshield.
So a thrilling match expects all DC fans with today's game. The whole game can be followed by livebot. There is also an opened bet for the game, where you can set your tip for the result of the match.

Since the beginning of the year, a storm has seemed to have broken out for our Swiss BF1942 teams. Whether this has to do with the foundation of distace.bf , which has woken them from their hibernation or simple only with that, that more Swiss players change from their German clans back to Switzerland.
Clear is the fact that 2 teams are in the Top20 and another 2 teams in the Top50.
